Mission, Vision,
& Values

Oak Hill United Methodist Church is a Lighthouse Congregation of The Rio Texas Annual Conference. We seek to provide a safe haven for people whose churches closed or disaffiliated from The United Methodist Church. As a United Methodist congregation, we want to welcome you with open arms and open hearts to help on your spiritual journey. We invite you to worship at Oak Hill either in-person or online. We offer small groups, mission outreach opportunities and Sunday School classes you may want participate in. If coming with a group from your former church, you are welcome to meet at Oak Hill to conduct classes or discuss your next steps. As a Lighthouse Congregation, we pledge to support you and your continued ministry where ever it leads.

Our
Mission

To transform lives through experiencing and growing in love of God, others, and self.

A diverse community united beyond our differences by the Love of Christ where everyone is welcome, everyone is connected, everyone is growing, and everyone is serving.

Our
Vision

TO BECOME THE TYPE OF CHURCH GOD CALLS OAK HILL TO BE, WE COMMIT TO:

Welcome everyone because God’s Love is open to ALL.

Offer a safe place because many people (including people who are part of the LGBTQ+ community) have been excluded and hurt by some churches.

Provide practical tools and guidance for our spiritual journeys because we all have room to grow.

Connect and form friendships with others because life and faith are better when lived in loving, supportive relationships.

Offer meaningful opportunities to serve others because life is more joyful when we use our lives to make this world a better place.

Oak Hill is part of the worldwide Christian denomination, The United Methodist Church. If you would like to know more about the beliefs of The United Methodist Church, click here
